type.win is a desktop typing arcade. This page is plain language, not a lawyer document. It covers the site at type.win, including the Word Fall embed used on itch.io and similar portals.
What we collect
Accounts. Sign-in is handled by Clerk. If you create an account, Clerk stores the usual account fields (email, username, avatar). We read that so we can show your name on the leaderboard and profile.
Game results. Scores and session stats (WPM, words destroyed, streaks, accuracy) are stored in Postgres hosted by Neon. Signed-in runs attach to your Clerk user id. Guest and embed Word Fall finishes may be stored as an anonymous “anon” row so we can count how many people finish a run. Anonymous rows are not a profile and never appear on the public leaderboard.
Hosting. The app runs on Cloudflare Workers. Cloudflare sees request metadata the way any CDN does (IP, user agent, timing) to serve the site and apply rate limits.
Analytics. If Cloudflare Web Analytics is enabled, a privacy-oriented pageview beacon may run. It is not used to sell ads or build marketing profiles.
Cookies
Clerk uses cookies (or similar storage) to keep you signed in. The games also store mute, difficulty, and personal-best values in your browser (localStorage) so settings survive a refresh. That storage stays on your device; we cannot read it from the server.
What we do not do
We do not sell your data. We do not run third-party ad networks. We do not require an account to play solo Word Fall or Type Race.
Your choices
You can play signed out. You can delete your Clerk account, which removes the sign-in we use to attach leaderboard rows. For questions, use the contact path listed on the site or the itch.io page that embeds the game.
